It is with much happiness to announce the upcoming rebranding and relaunch of my business!

Since 2013 I have been experimenting with various historical techniques in photography, specifically those developed in the 19th Century.

Artist’s Books

Pinhole Produce

Been experimenting with long-exposure pinhole images for the past six months. Setting up some still lifes, and leaving the shutter open for 15-30 minutes. In many of the shots, I played with adding and removing pieces of the fruit, leaving some ghostly traces behind.

Stony Kill Farm

Spent this foggy morning at Stony Kill Farm in Dutchess County, NY. The farm was busy setting up for its Country Fair today, and I enjoyed strolling the bucolic grounds and hiking the Verplanck Ridge Trail with my camera.

Block Island, RI

Spent a long weekend on Block Island in July. It's a beautiful and lively place to wander around.

Beet Juice Anthotype

After a three day exposure, I think this print is complete. The paper is coated in a combination of beet juice, rubbing alcohol, and vinegar. The positive of the original image was printed on transparency paper with an inkjet printer. The paper and the positive were left out on my fire escape in a 4x5 contact print frame, in direct sunlight, for three days. The image itself is of a wild Icelandic horse from my travels there last summer. This is my most successful attempt at an anthotype so far, and I feel excited to continue. I have an image still developing made with the reductions of boiled onion skins and hibiscus.

Pine Bush UFO Fest & Parade

Pine Bush, NY, is home to the annual UFO Festival and Parade. Inspired by the many unexplained sightings in their skies, the community cultivates this unique event with a variety of vendors. Throughout the day I interacted with artists, musicians, and special effects crews who create props for films. 

Constitution Marsh, Garrison, NY

Last weekend I visited the Constitution Marsh in Garrison, NY. It was my first time going to this location and I found it to be really beautiful and peaceful. I find I am happiest when experimenting with new techniques and challenging myself to take unique forms of images, so below are a few of the results!

I had a few color shots left in my Holga 120N, which is a plastic, medium format "toy camera", which takes 120mm film. I brought my pinhole attachment for it, wanting to capture as much of the location as possible. There was a lot of light leak on this occasion, and I might want to tape my camera along the side to avoid losing detail.

With my 5D I wanted to explore using neutral density filers (which darkens the shot, allowing the use of slow shutter speeds) during afternoon sun to smooth the surface of the water and elongate the movement of clouds.
